Bear Lake, Utah & Idaho

Asphalt paving across the Bear Lake region

Local crew, both shores. Cabin driveways and small commercial work from Garden City, UT to Montpelier, ID โ€” spec'd for Bear Lake's climate.

Bear Lake coverage

The Bear Lake region โ€” Utah & Idaho

Our Bear Lake crew lives and works at the lake. We're the only family-owned asphalt company with a real local presence on both shores โ€” Garden City on the Utah side, Montpelier and Paris on the Idaho side, and everywhere in between.

Most of our Bear Lake work is cabin and vacation-home driveways, but we also do year-round residential, ranch approaches, and the small commercial lots that keep the lake towns running.

Bear Lake's climate is harder on asphalt than the Wasatch Front. Higher elevation means stronger UV; snow shovels and plows scrape the surface harder; and the paving window is shorter on both ends. We spec our work for that โ€” and we recommend a sealcoat every 2 years instead of 3 up here.

FAQ

Bear Lake asphalt FAQs

What's the best time to pave at Bear Lake?

Late May through mid-September. The lake's elevation makes both edges of the season tight, and pavement needs warm temps to cure. Book by April for prime summer slots.

Do you work both the Utah and Idaho sides of Bear Lake?

Yes โ€” Garden City and Pickleville on the Utah side, Montpelier, Paris, and Bennington on the Idaho side. Same crew, same materials, same warranty.

Why does Bear Lake asphalt fail faster than Wasatch Front asphalt?

Two reasons: stronger UV at elevation, and harsher winter freeze-thaw with snow shovels and plows scraping the surface. Sealcoating every 2 years (instead of 3) buys back most of that gap.
